Mashed Potatoes Recipe
Easy, smooth and warm mashed potatoes
SERVES 4
900g floury potatoes peeled and cut into even-sized chunks
55g butter
3 tbsp hot milk
salt and pepper

Bring a large saucepan of lightly salted water to the boil, add the potatoes, bring back to the boil and then cook for 20-25 minutes until tender.
Test with the point of a knife.

Remove the pan from the heat and drain the potatoes. Return them to the pan and mash with a potato masher until smooth

Add the butter and continue to mash until it is all mixed in then add the milk. (it is better hot because the potatoes absorb it more quickly)
4.
Taste the mash and season. Serve or use immediately
